A 15-year-old boy is expected to appear before a Siparia magistrate today charged sexually assaulting his 13-year-old sister and four charges of housebreaking and larceny. The teenager, who dropped out of primary school before writing the Secondary Entrance Assessment exam, was arrested around 6 am on Tuesday at his Santa Flora home, months after the alleged assault.
Both live with their parents. The boy was home with the girl on February 13 when he allegedly had sex with her in a bedroom in the house.
When the girl, a primary school student, went to school she told her teacher what had happened. The teacher called the police and her parents and the girl was taken for a medical examination.
It revealed the girl had been sexually assaulted. The boy was arrested and questioned in connected with several burglaries in the community for which he was subsequently charged.
