My name is Maliyah de Suze and I like to eat salty snacks! My full name is Maliyah Kadisha Farry Boss. I give myself my last name  “Boss!” I want to call my name “Boss” because I want to be a boss of my own business. I want to be a police when I grow up. I brave enough to be a police. I see police on TV and that is what make me want to be one. My favourite TV police is Inspector Alexander. And Ian Alleyne.

I live Dundonald Hill, above Long Circular Mall. I go to Moulton Hall Methodist School. My big sister carry me to school. And we have a driver sometimes. I go to church every Sunday. When my mummy could make it. If she can’t take us to church, she send us to Sunday School. Up to this weekend, I was by my dad, Claudius Farry. My mummy and daddy not together though.

I haven’t thought about which secondary school I want to go to. I never even thought about the SEA exam. I am only six years old, so is a long time before I have to think about that. My dad is tall so I am tall too. I like to eat salty snacks because I love them so much. I eating salty snacks all my life. I don’t like sweets. My sister is eat that. I have four sisters. My sister over here is Maya. The next one down the road is Martha and the other one is Melissa.

My favourite subject at school is work. I like colouring the most. I like to draw. I like to dance and sing, too. I wanted to be in the choir at school but I not in the choir. I don’t know why. They try out for first years already and I not in it. Maya didn’t know when the tryouts was to carry me. I have two TVs. My mummy is a TV show, my favourite one. But I like to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks on DVD. Maya watch Dora the Explorer. My mummy take me to Globe once when I was smaller but was a bit traumatising.

I go to meet my mummy at work at Tru Valu Supermarket every day from school. Sometimes I’s be there until 8 o’clock when mummy finish work. My mummy does try to make me do my homework. But Miss didn’t give us no homework. Miss George is my favourite teacher. She teach me everything. But I like drawing and colouring best still.

I was in a play in my early childhood centre school. I was the Big Bad Wolf. I didn’t huff-and-puff and blow down the walls though. I eat grandma. Was Red Riding Hood Big Bad Wolf. Reshon Gill is my best friend at school. He is a boy. I like to lime with the boys. Mummy say I have tomboyish ways. Reshon Gill have a sister. Just Reshon is my friend. I doesn’t play with nobody else.

My favourite salty snack is Jap’s fried chicken and chips. The Trinidad one. It originate in Sangre Grande but they have a branch in St James. I never take part in school sports day yet. Is only last September I entered the school! I played mas last year for the first time. That costume with the donkey on the bottom. Burrokeet. A little band from Laventille we played with. I going by my daddy for this Carnival. He is a Muslim. He don’t participate in Carnival.

I went on the Savannah stage to play mas. I jump up on the stage. Mummy was there with me, but she wasn’t on the stage, she was by the stage. Carnival is nice but Christmas is the best time of the year. I like the presents. This year, we got a lot of presents.
I don’t know what is a Trini but I know a Trinbagonian is from T&T. A Trinbagonian like to play mas and have fun. T&T is my home. I sing the national anthem in school.
