The body of a woman with a bullet wound to the back of the head was found at Diego Martin, yesterday.
The woman was identified as Sahiri Logan, 26, of Mason Street, Diego Martin.
Police were called in after a resident saw the body near Broom Street, La Puerta, around 7.30 am.
The body was viewed by the District Medical Officer and ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy.
Residents told police that they heard a car speeding off from the area around 3 am.
Investigators said they believed that Logan was killed elsewhere and her body dumped in the area.
Peter Logan, the victim’s father, who was at the Forensic Science Centre waiting for the autopsy, said his daughter lived at Diego Martin with her “man.”
“She liked to cook, cook anything and I always told her to cook and sell. She used to feel sorry for people and tried to help everyone,” he said.
Her murder took the toll to 28 for the year.
Sgt Harvey and Cpl Subiah of the Homicide Bureau and Western Division Task Force officers visited the scene.
