CrimeWatch host Ian Alleyne opened his own investigations in to the murder of CEPEP worker Ryan Applewhite this week.
Applewhite, 32, was shot dead at Shende Street Extension Road, San Juan, on Wednesday.
According to eyewitness accounts, a lone gunman approached the unsuspecting victim and shot him ten times.
Alleyne interviewed the family of the deceased who told him Applewhite was not a violent person nor affiliated with any gang activity. Applewhite, family members said, was working hard to support his young children.
Footage Alleyne was able to acquire showed Applewhite dressed in a green CEPEP jumper in the road where he was walking on his way home.

In an unrelated story, Haffeez Mohammed, also known as “Ramindo Trini,” was abducted by two gunmen in Central Trinidad while visiting a friend last Friday.
He was subsequently murdered and his body dumped in a field in Central Trinidad, where police discovered him on Saturday.
Mohammed was arrested in January 2001 in connection with the seizure of 542 Kilos of cocaine in Carapichaima with a street value of approximately $204 million.
He was later extradited to the United States of America, went on trial, was found guilty and sentenced to jail time. He was deported back to T&T and had been living in Central.
The investigation is being handled very carefully by Sr Supt Johnny Abraham, who did not want to make any major comment on the killing.
In another story, Alleyne visited the owner of a new Glencoe Estate home, after she reported that she had been robbed by a contractor she hired.
She told Alleyne that she arrived at her new home to inspect the work being done only to discover that a number of appliances had been removed. All her attempts to contact the contractor were unsuccessful.
She contacted Alleyne and he aired footage live this past Monday and announced that two people can assist him in the investigation.

In another story, Alleyne visited the scene where 11-year-old Malabar RC student Shane Williams was struck and killed while crossing the Churchill Roosevelt Highway near the Arima turn off last Saturday.
Williams and a friend were crossing when he was hit by a vehicle heading east.
The investigation is underway and the public is urged to contact Alleyne with any information on the whereabouts of the driver of the vehicle, a Bluebird Sylphy.
