An early-morning argument between two men in South Oropouche has left a 38-year-old electrician dead.
Police said Jude Geoffroy, 38, of Tin Pan Alley was at Turpin Trace, Harris Village when around 7.15 am he got into a quarrel with a 34-year-old resident in the road. It escalated into a fight and the suspect picked up a stone and struck him several times on his head. Police also found injuries on his neck.
Other residents called in police and a team of officers, including Supt Jimmy Palloo and Insp Peter Ramdeen took him to the Siparia District Health Facility, but he was pronounced dead on the arrival.
The suspect, who was held near the scene, told police that Geoffroy continuously harassed him. The body was taken to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy.
