My name is Javan Lynch and I’m a cable guy.
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz. I was born Catholic. But I end up going to Pentecostal churches. But I’m not a “Born Again” Christian.
At one time, it had a Synergy Supermodel reality show and I was one of the 13 guys they picked out of a whole bunch of guys after casting for a whole day. I reach to the third episode. It was a fun time in your life but you reach a stage where you have to put that behind you.
I real love Jamacia. People have a stereotype of Jamaica but, once you go to nice places, like Negril and Ocho Rios, it’s nice. I never went to the US. I see plenty people get blanked for visas. Later on, when I have my collaterals, my home and thing already, they should grant me a visa. Disneyworld is one of my bucket lists.
If you look at a magazine about beaches in the world, they ain’t showing you no beach in America. When you landing at St Maarten airport, is like you flying into a magazine. In New York, they’s have blizzard. I grew up with a thing that I like the Caribbean.
My family real big. The street I live on is actually named after my family: Lynch Avenue. Is plenty uncles, plenty cousins, nearly 30 grandchildren.
Our family well known for parang. All until Panorama, we still paranging. Is too much family to keep all the Christmas just at Christmas. So Lynch Christmas does reach Carnival.
I want to get married and have a family. I’m with Kyle Barnes, a fantastic girl, right now, her motives and everything real nice, she’s a nice person. She have a boy name, but don’t tell her that! And she don’t look like a boy! She pretty! Nice body! Hot! Brains! Doing a degree in maths. Real trustworthy and loyal. She’s the full package. That’s my baby. No infidelity, neither my side nor her side.
Trinidadians have a slang: babies don’t suffer. But a child is a huge responsibility: 18 years and beyond! I believe in preparing for a family instead of just having the child come. I have an apartment I build on top of by my mom. That’s my little bachelor pad. But your child have to get a room. And you don’t know how many children might come when you do start.
I could call myself a movie critic ‘cause I’s go deep into movie. When I see Jude Law, Brad Pitt, in a movie, I know that movie going to have some serious acting in it.
Dwayne Bravo, all of us grow up same time in Santa Cruz, Cantaro Village. I was a pace bowler. I used to take real wickets but I never bowled out Dwayne Bravo; but he couldn’t make much runs off me.
I hook people up with internet, cable and phone, going on five years now. I have a four-wheel drive but that came after years of working hard and sacrificing to buy a decent vehicle. I used to work with a Corolla wagon before. Some places I couldn’t go because it wasn’t four-wheel drive.
Besides the job paying all right, the best part is meeting people. If I was by her house 15 minutes before, I would have met the Prime Minister.
The bad part of my job is customers giving you attitude. You really trying to help out people but they want to tell you, “I waiting four hours for you!” They don’t know you have to park your vehicle at the bottom of a hill and walk up the steep hill with a 24-foot ladder to even get to start the job. And you have to make two or three trips to get everything you need!
We face all kinds of obstacle on this job. Customers threaten you. Woman hitting on you! They come out in the shortest pants and a bra. You have to know you come to do a job, not to put down wuk!
We don’t really take a lunch break. Eat in the vehicle on the move. People say time is money but time is really money for contractors.
For me, a Trini is a free-minded and happy person.
Trinidad and Tobago is an inviting place. Plenty places you go, people pass one another side by side and don’t talk.
