A gun and several rounds of ammunition were seized by the police at Halls Lane, Morvant, on Tuesday evening. Officers from the Northeastern Division Task Force held three people for questioning in the area in connection with several shootings. A report said between 6 pm and 11 pm Sgt Taylor, PCs Antoine, Highly, Edwards and other members of the task force received information and went to an area where there were several recent shootings between rival gangs.
A .38 Brazilian revolver, three live rounds of ammunition and a quantity of cocaine were found in some nearby bushes. Officers said they would like to encourage members of the public for their support and encourage them to work alongside them in the fight against crime. Members of the Organised Crime, Firearms and Narcotics Bureau conducted an operation in the Northern Division between last Sunday and Monday where three people were arrested.
The weight of the cocaine is approximately 3.18 kilos valued at 1.2 million. Police said investigations will continue.
