North Zone duo, Queen’s Park CC and Malvern are among a list of six new clubs that will be competing in the 2015 season of the T&T Women’s League Football (TT WoLF). This was confirmed when WoLF held it first meeting at the T&T Football Association’s office in the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo on Saturday.
The other clubs which will be competing for the first time include Crowne Trace, Waterloo Starlets, Tobago Chicas and George and Anita Russell Sporting Academy. Additionally, both St Ann’s Rangers and Petrotrin will have two teams in the competition. At Saturday’s meeting WoLF also confirmed the 2014 season results and indicated that it would have its prize-giving ceremony at the 2015 League Opening, Saturday May 9, at a venue still to be confirmed.
With regards to the new clubs and the upcoming season, the WoLF executive said it was pretty excited by the interest and inclusion of the new teams, which confirms that more women and girls do want the opportunity to play the wonderful game of football. So far, 18 teams are confirmed for the upcoming season with the deadline date for all registration set at May 5.
