Thank God it's Friday. The familiar cliché took on new meaning for a truck driver who walked away unharmed from the scene of an unusual accident this morning.
CNC3 Head of News Sampson Nanton was there and captured these photos.
Roshan Sahadeo, 46, of Aranguez, narrowly escaped a gruesome death in downtown Port-of-Spain, after the container attached to his truck fell onto the cabin penetrating the roof and crushing parts of the interior, around 9.15 am. The container was being transported by a truck driver attached to Basics Distribution.
Sahadeo was at the time heading west on Queen Street and turning left onto Richmond Street. If he had been turning right, the outcome could have been very different!
In a related incident, a second container being transported by a truck driver attached to Basics Distribution was also seen leaning precariously to the left, attached to a truck parked on Sackville Street, Port-of-Spain this morning. (Photo: Roberto Codallo / T&T Guardian)
