Alexis, 45, a labourer, was found slumped in the driver’s seat of his car at Bay View around 12.20 am.
Police reports state that residents heard a loud crash and when they came outside they found Alexis’ car against the front gate of one of the residents’ premises. He had injuries to his head.
Police suspect that he was driving when he was shot.
At his Gasparillo home, where he lived with his wife and 20-year-old stepdaughter, his sister, who did not want to be identified, said they were all in a state of shock.
Another relative said he left home in his white and black Lancer shortly before 8 pm on Friday, telling his wife that he would be “back just now.”
When he did not return his wife called him on his cellphone, but he did not answer.

The couple got married on December 17 and he has a son from a previous relationship.
“Everything is in the hands of Allah. I am not the judge or the prosecutor or anything like that. Everything is in the hands of the Creator...”
Describing him as a friendly and helpful family man, his sister said he had changed his life and was “for his wife and stepdaughter.”
An autopsy is expected to be performed tomorrow at the Forensic Science Centre, St James.
