A 47-year-old mason with five different addresses appeared in court yesterday charged with the murder of street dweller Barry Joseph.
Roderick White was arrested last week Thursday and charged with Joseph’s murder three months after the victim was hacked to death at Harris Street, San Fernando.
The murder took place within sight of the Police Administrative Building and the Magistrates Court.
White appeared before Senior Magistrate Nanette Forde-John who read the charge which alleged that he murdered Joseph on March 6.
White, who has addresses in Success Village, Laventille; Beetham Gardens; Harris Street, San Fernando; Siparia Old Road; and Salt Mine Trace, Siparia, was arrested at his job site in Siparia and charged by PC Keron Chinapoo.
He was represented by attorney Alvin Pariagsingh.
Court prosecutor Cleyon Seedan said the file had been sent to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for a state attorney to be appointed in the matter.
White was remanded in custody to reappear in court on May 28.
