Convenor of the Roundtable Group David Abdulah says the organisation is considering an invitation from leader of the Highway Re-Route Movement Dr Wayne Kublalsingh to tour the Debe to Mon Desir leg of the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway.
Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley is also part of the group.
Contacted yesterday Abdulah said he received a letter from Kublalsingh on Sunday which invited the group to a tour.
However, he said he could not make a final decision unless he met with the other members which was expected to take place today.
Kublalsingh said yesterday he wrote to Abdulah because he believed the majority of the parties which formed the group would form the next government.
“It is a good opportunity to furnish them with the facts so they would be in a better position when they come into government,” Kublalsingh said.
Early last year Kublalsingh embarked on his second hunger strike against construction of the Debe to Mon Desir section of the $7 billion extension of the Solomon Hochoy to Point Fortin.
But he said he began eating tulsi just after Christmas.
In January this year he said he began drinking water and in March started eating tulsi leaves with honey.
Asked about his health condition Kublalsingh said he never felt better.
“I have not gotten any sniffle and frankly I think people eat too much food. I think they eat too much solids,” Kublalsingh.
According to Hinduism.about.com the tulsi or holy basil is an important symbol in the Hindu religious tradition and is worshiped in the morning and evening by Hindus.
The basil is also a herbal remedy for a lot of common ailments.
