In the week that Independent Liberal Party leader Jack Warner faced an indictment from the US Justice Department, demands for his extradition and a night in jail, polling results from the marginal constituency of Lopinot Bonaire West showed him polling ahead of both Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Opposition Leader Dr Keith Rowley, when voters were asked who was “acceptable with reservations” as prime minister.
Warner polled 40.5%, to Rowley’s 29.8% and Persad-Bissessar’s 17.7%. When simply asked who they considered acceptable as prime minister, Warner trailed both Rowley 38.2% and Persad-Bissessar 33.3%.
