Sean Julien, the brother of former national footballer Sherwyn Julien, was killed instantly when he was flung through the windscreen of his car after it crashed into a utility pole in Erin on Saturday. Police said that around 10.15 pm, Julien, 35, of Ramsaran Settlement, Cap-de-ville, Point Fortin, was driving his blue Nissan Sunny B-13 along the SS Erin Road with his friend Adrian Bridgewater.

On reaching Arena Village, Erin, while attempting to negotiate a curve, the car skidded off the road and crashed into the pole, eyewitnesses said. Residents who responded found him already dead while Bridgewater, of Soomai Trace, Cap-de-ville was taken to the Siparia District Health Facility for treatment.

Julien’s sister, Ann Marie Joyeau, said he went to a car show at Los Iros junction on Saturday night and just left for a gas station in Santa Flora when the accident happened. She said they got the news shortly after when someone called his wife Anika. Ann Marie’s husband, Louis, said they went to the scene and the body remained there until 2 am yesterday.

They said Julien was a father a three children: Jasean, 16, Shanique, eight and Sean, two.
