Sheldon Henville, the man who police say is of “keen interest” in the murder of his wife journalist Marcia Henville is still warded at hospital and is said to be mourning the death of his “soul mate”. Speaking with the T&T Guardian yesterday, the man’s attorney, Fareed Ali, said his client has been crying for the love of his life for some time.
Ali said coupled with his grief his client’s state of mind is now being questioned given his 15 day stay at the Eric Williams Medical Complex. He added his client has been receiving advanced treatment over the past couple of days and his blood pressure had been consistently high. He added along with the heightened blood pressure his client is given an increased dosage of morphine to combat the pain incurred from the advance treatment.
Asked about the police investigation into his client, Ali said he was wondering if there was any investigation at all. “I sent a message to the Homicide Bureau through my client telling them that I am missing them because they have not been contacting me. They have been trying to speak with my client without me and my client has continuously refused to do so” Ali said.
Henville, 39, suffered non-life threatening burns in a fire which damaged the couple’s Fidelis Heights, St Augustine home on January 24. Henville has been warded at the hospital since then and have been reported to have been abusive to hospital staff when they try to dress his wounds.
He is also under 24 hour police guard. An autopsy on Marcia showed that before being set ablaze, 51-year-old journalist, as she lay face down on her bed, was stabbed repeatedly about the face and neck, struck in the back of the head and her throat was slit. She was buried on January 29.
