CrimeWatch host Ian Alleyne this week continued to investigate the death of Frank “Yellows” Daniel, who went missing for some time before his body was discovered by police on February 15, 2015.

Daniel’s badly decomposed body was found along Factory Road, Chaguanas.

Police reportedly closed the case after autopsies were done and it was concluded there was no foul play in Daniel’s death.

However, this ruling did not sit well with Alleyne, as his investigations led him to believe otherwise.

Alleyne called on the services of Professor Hubert Daisley for a third autopsy to be conducted independently and the findings were startling as the CrimeWatch host aired the very graphic but detailed video of the autopsy for the nation to see.

Daisley found defensive wounds about Daniel’s hands and arms and bruises about the body, but the pinnacle proved to be evidence suggesting that the death was due to strangulation.

It was concluded that there was indeed foul play and that Daniel clearly was involved in a struggle which led to his death, with his body being dumped in the Factory Road area afterwards.

Alleyne has called upon senior police to dig deeper into the case. He has also vowed to get justice for the Daniel family as he cannot understand the findings of the first two autopsies.

Alleyne also made startling discoveries during his investigation into the death of 21-year-old Kyshon Bell, of Duncan Street, Port-of-Spain, who was allegedly stabbed several times by security officials attached to a popular mas band in Woodbrook on Carnival Tuesday.

Relatives and friends appeared on CrimeWatch to give an account of the matter and Alleyne later visited the area in Woodbrook where the stabbing took place. He was surprised to see that a number of properties along the route where the incident took place had surveillance cameras installed. There were government-installed CCTV cameras as well.

Alleyne called on acting Commissioner of Police Stephen Williams to check into the matter as there was clearly a cover-up.

Noting that it seemed poor people’s calls for justice were not heard, Alleyne vowed to ensure Bell’s killers are caught and prosecuted. He said he would seek out the footage and air it if nothing was done.

Also, this week, a family suffered a double tragedy when the day after they lost 17-year-old Shivnarine Manbodh, who was killed in an unfortunate incident at a worksite in Barrackpore, they also lost his brother-in-law Praimraj Singh.

Manbodh was crushed to death when rubble fell on the excavator he was operating on Wednesday. Alleyne visited the site and filmed the scene where the boy was killed.

Singh, the estranged husband of Manbodh’s sister, died of a heart attack the following day.

Breakthrough

A man broke into Rhonda’s Bar in Princes Town on Carnival Tuesday at approximately 1.30 am with a sledge hammer.

The man stole over $16,000 in cash and other items.

Alleyne was able to get footage which he aired and he is now asking the public to visit his Facebook page to assist in locating the criminal.

Unsolved mystery

Alleyne was also on the scene at the More Money Pawn Shop on Henry Street, Port-of-Spain, on Monday, after thieves broke into the store over the weekend.

The thieves got away with over $15 million worth of jewelry and cash, which was described as the biggest heist in Port-of-Spain in over 20 years.

Alleyne aired the footage of his visit and it was evident that this heist was well-planned, as jack hammers or other tools were used to gain access through the concrete ceiling. His investigation revealed three men were seen on the roof of the building hours before the break-in.

Irate customers gathered outside the Pawn Shop demanding answers on Thursday. The owners released a statement saying they would repay 90 per cent of the lost items’ value.

Police are still investigating the break-in and the public is kindly asked to contact Alleyne on Whatsapp at 294-4081 with any helpful information.
