Investigations are continuing into the disappearance of a Tobago special reserve police officer following a fire which destroyed his home and his common-law wife’s vehicle. The incident occurred at around 8.30 pm on Friday at Store Bay Local Road, Bon Accord. According to reports, SRP Jody Duncan, 34, had an altercation with his common-law wife. Neighbours said the woman fled the house and sought refuge nearby.
Shortly after the single-storey dwelling and a Suzuki Vitara vehicle were seen on fire. The blaze spread to a nearby building. The fire service was called, but was unable to save the properties. Damage has been estimated at approximately $200,000. Duncan, who is attached to the Crown Point Police Station and has more than seven years service, has not been seen or heard from since the incident.
Scarborough Fire Station and Crown Point police are continuing investigations.
