The body of a headless man found in Carapo on Sunday has been identified as 57-year-old Steve Gorgan. The victim’s brother, Mickey, made the identification at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, yesterday.
Mickey said he last saw his brother — a former horse groom, turned part-time farmer — on Saturday. He said he was clueless as to who or why anyone would want to kill him.
Police found Gorgan’s head after being alerted by a passerby near the Santa Rosa race track, Carapo. His body was found in bushes shortly after 6 am some 100 metres away. An autopsy would be done today as a second relative who was required to identify the body did not show up.
